We’re seeking a Design Manager, Brand to join the growing Brand Marketing team at Coinbase. You’ll be both an IC and a lead, managing other designers while designing for critical marketing projects. Your focus will be both on building a brand that speaks to our customers and current/future employees. You are able to translate marketing strategies into exceptional and impactful design that clearly communicates our core messages.

As a Design Manager, you’ll be responsible for developing and growing our marketing design team - working closely with each designer on career development and personal growth. You’ll also  guide designers towards the best possible design and brand outcomes while staying cognizant of our business needs. You’ll lead by example as you facilitate cross-functional projects and identify opportunities for the brand design team to operate more strategically and effectively at Coinbase. You’ll work closely with the Director of Brand Marketing as you establish brand design excellence and a vision for the future of Coinbase brand.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Customer First: Consistently create brand executions (social, events, campaigns etc.) and make judgements that focus on the customer.
  • Deliver Results: You work smarter not harder, value completing tasks vs. talking about them and recognize roadblocks in advance - handling any conflict with maturity.
  • Operations: Comfortable in developing and managing the design scope of project work and creating prioritization processes.
  • Persuade: By using clear communication, conviction and authority, promote and protect brand work internally to champion influence.
  • Balance: You’ll be both an IC and a lead, excited to jump in and get your hands dirty designing and art directing  projects.
  • Championship team: Set team goals and a vision, holding team to a high quality bar. Manage and mentor a team with candor and kindness, empowering them to do their best work.

What we look for in you:

  • 8+ years of proven history building and designing work class brands.
  • 1-2 years of experience building and managing design teams.
  • Inspire a team strategically and creatively in building the future of the Coinbase brand.
