The Accounting Policy and Reporting function is an integral component of Finance’s risk management and reporting  process and driving consistent application of accounting across the company. As such, we are looking for an accounting professional to support high quality financial and regulatory reporting standards. The role will report to the Director of Technical Accounting and Reporting and work closely with business partners in compliance and finance to ensure timely and accurate preparation and filing of both our financial statements and state regulatory reporting obligations.

What you’ll be doing (ie. job duties):

  • Assist with the preparation of annual financial statements and footnotes for both consolidated and stat reporting requirements.
  • Assist in preparing monthly financial reporting packages for senior management.
  • Prepare and coordinate quarterly and ad-hoc regulatory reports for state licensing bodies.
  • Assist with internal, external and regulatory audits.
  • Draft and maintain financial reporting & regulatory policies and procedures and ensure compliance with key controls.
  • Collaborate and partner with cross-functional teams to recommend and implement process improvements  to enhance accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of the reporting process.

What we look for in you (ie. job requirements):

  • 5+  years experience within both public accounting and industry desired.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field and CPA or CPA equivalent required.
  • Experience with financial statement preparation required.
  • Experience with state money transmission license regulatory reporting a strong plus.
  • Self-motivated and able to multitask.
  • Desire to work in a fast growing and agile business.
  • Exceptional organization skills and attention to detail.
  • Enjoys working in a team environment.
  • Strong communication and time management skills.

Nice to haves:

  • Experience with financial reporting tools, such as Workiva and Netsuite.
